When Mercury sits in the 12th house, Lal Kitab refers to it as "Anda Leta" (lying like an unhatched egg). The intellect and curiosity of Mercury are completely put to sleep in the 12th house.
As a result, the person becomes highly apathetic. They do not care about the hustle and bustle of life. They lack ambition, curiosity, and the drive to succeed. They simply exist, floating through life without giving it much importance ("mahatva na deta hoga").
