Dr. Sharma uses the brilliant metaphor of a chessboard to explain the mechanics of success, karma, and willpower (Mars/Sun).
In chess, both the King and the Pawn move only one square at a time. Mechanically, their actions are identical. However, the King moves with absolute authority, while the Pawn moves as a foot soldier.
Dr. Sharma explains that in the game of life, the difference between a highly successful person (a King) and an average person (a Pawn) is not necessarily their resources or their planetary transits. The difference is purely internal: "himmat aur iraade" (courage and determination). If you have the willpower of a King, even the smallest step you take will eventually conquer the board.
